Combat System Guide
Parry, dodge, combo chains, execution finishers and the difficulty options, assembled from demo footage and hands-on reports, with the same confidence labels the trackers use.
Parry
Demo VerifiedParry is the spine of the system, not an optional defensive tool. Successful parries interrupt enemy chains and open the damage windows that combos are built around. Chinese gameplay analysis shows the window tightening measurably on the higher difficulty tier rather than enemies simply gaining health.
Dodge
Demo VerifiedDodge covers what parry cannot: unblockable attacks flagged with a red tell. Lateral dodges consistently outperform backwards ones against area attacks, since shockwave radii in demo footage exceed the visible animation.
Combo Chains
ReportedAttacks flow into weapon-specific chains rather than a shared moveset. Weapons carry their own stagger, reach and status behaviour. Jagged Steel builds Bleeding toward a Hemorrhage burst; Soft Snake Sword trades poise for reach. Swapping mid-encounter is described in hands-on reports as intended, not a niche option.
Execution Finishers
Demo VerifiedLow-health enemies and bosses become eligible for a scripted finisher. In the demo build these were cinematic and unskippable, and functioned as a reward for the parry loop rather than a separate resource system.
Difficulty Options
ReportedDifficulty is selectable. S-GAME has positioned this as central to the "not a Soulslike" argument: the game is meant to be finishable by players who want the choreography without the mastery curve, while higher tiers tighten parry windows for players who want it.
